Stolen thunder....

My Oh My.

I have totally fallen in love with this necklace from Stolen Thunder.

It is pretty much perfect. they have so many cute necklaces on the website, including one with an ornate birdcage made of wood, it took me a while to find a favourite!

I just wish i had time to order it in time for Glastonbury......maybe it could be a little treat for myself for Bennicassim?

Check out their website – these girls are just the cutest.

Today I have learnt the benefits disadvantages of Benylin.
I drank half a bottle of the dry cough stuff the morning, and appeared to have a little trip out.
Seriously I had to hold onto a wall whilst walking down the coridor earlier. And my computer screen went all weird. Which was more my eyes than my computer having spazzed. I checked!
Who needs alcohol? At £4.50, if half of it will have me spaced out I might take a few bottles to Glastonbury and see what happens.

There are some excellent advantages of the housemate working for a stupidly expensive designer department store, and those advantages include her emailing me today to ask if I want my eyelashes and make-up doing on Friday night. Not just doing, but doing by the amazing Shu Uemura.

What more could a girl want to get her ready for a Friday evening?

Been having a sneaky peak at the website and I la-la-love these blue numbers – but should I go for something more extravagant? Maybe someting with a bit of bling on them?

Maybe something like those fantastic lashes Scarlet Johanson wears as Silken Floss in The Spirit? They are some A-mazing lashes don’t you agree?

Not that i am counting......

Well, maybe I am a little bit!

2 weeks today I’ll be off to Glastonbury, in the minibus the boyf expertly procured yesterday, and hopefully in the sunshine.

And in just over a month I’ll be boarding that plane to Spain for Benicassim. Most likely in the sunshine!

AGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. So excited!

More weekend adventures......

This weekend I;
  • Bought wellies {hunters, no less} and a rain mac, to cover me in the inevitable Manchester rain, which stopped just before we let the house! Good work.
  • Had a guided tour of the dizzy heights of Stockport!
  • Drank in Didsbury with the boyf’s sister and her man.
  • Ate toasted potato waffles and chocolate mousse in the early hrs.
  • Watched an amazing show with Oasis, Kasabian, The Enemy and Twisted Wheel at Heaton Park.
  • Realised I like more Enemy and Kasabian songs than I thought.
  • Tested my wellies in the Manchester mud {and on the 3.5 mile walk home-yeah, that was fun!} And laughed at the people who’d turned up in flipflops {It’d been raining for 12 hrs, fools.}
  • Wore my new Funky Junk jewellery - to many compliments.
  • Ate Krispy Kremes.
  • And wished we’d had YO! Sushi as well.
  • Marvelled at the Vodka Bar in Selfridges.
  • Realised I am too old for living room sleepovers. Sleeping on a sofa with a sweater for a pillow is not comfy, even drunk! Less so when there are 4 people on the floor and another on the sofa with you.
  • Found out there are some advantages to my insomnia – being awake at 4am and being able to listen to the drunken talk of boys can be super useful for later ammunition.
  • Got the worst sore throat. Just hoping it’s not tonsillitis. That would suck. But might be a great impromptu diet.

Again, the clear blue skies that the weather forecast promised were delivered. This is two weekends in a row. And kind of my first weekend ‘off’ in a while.

When I say ‘off’ I mean no hen do’s or weddings or club nights or events to go to. No plans what so ever {other than seeing the boy, but that’s a given} pure bliss.

So weekend was spent sitting in the sun with friends, planning for the forthcoming trip to Glastonbury – who’s seeing who, travel {like do we get a minibus? Or hire another car and if we get a minibus who can drive it?} and camping arrangements – it’s 24 days to go, the counter on facebook tells me and i have sooooooo much stuff to get sorted, including deciding which jeans to hack up to make cut-off. life is tough.

Then there were arguing over tent sizes {the boy wants a 5 man monster which will be more ‘practical’ or something, I was opting for a smaller, 3 man, easier to carry number, which I am sure would have been just as practical for me, but maybe less so for his 6’3-ness! I think he’s won!} and also bbq-ing. Twice.

We had beers and mojito’s and pretty much all the food we could find {some yummy marinated chicken, ultimate burgers, tonnes of sausages, salads, kebabs, crisps, sweets and cake} and generally threw a few parties in the little back yard at the boys’ place with our friends.....the neighbours were not playing their delightful brand of music this week though, so we had to make do with our own voices!

Then I popped to see my nan, who, having an abundance of eggs {as you do} suggested we make a cake! What an excellent plan. So here I am at work, on a Monday, with a large sponge cake, filled with jam, and topped with cream, strawberries and hotel chocolate sprinkles {no, don’t ask me what she was doing with hotel chocolate sprinkles, but they are amazing!}

Right, now I am back on with the super busy weekends - Oasis at Heaton Park next weekend.
