I don’t know how it has happened, or where it came from, but August
has kind of snuck up on me. Seriously? August? Tomorrow? But with August comes a little holiday to the boat,
visits to friends, and the fabulous August Break, which, in fairness, I really can’t
say I need, given the sporadic nature of my blogging recently.
For those of you who don’t know, the August Break is
a fab little blogging project from Susannah
Conway, encouraging us all to not focus so much on the words, but pictures.
She explains it better;
How it works: you simply share one photo (or more!) each day on your blog – Monday to Friday, or every day. Or whenever you feel moved to share. Using any camera – DSLR, compact, Polaroid, Holga, iPhone (my choice), Instax, film or digital – with or without words – anything goes! – for the whole of August. No pressure – just looking at August through your camera lens as a way to be more present this summer. And to have a little break from the pressures and expectations of regular blogging.
There are NO RULES, people! Just sunshine (hopefully) + a bit of fun. And lots of lovely photos to look at and new blogs to discover.
I will be shooting on my phone, and with my DSLR, and my instax mini, and I am sure there will also be words
over August. No matter how lax I am at posting, I haven't managed to not talk during an August break yet! I just can't stay quiet for a whole month.
And maybe I can encourage a few of you to join in, you can 'sign up' free to the link-up here, and there is a Flickr group and an instagram hashtag too - #augustbreak.
You can see my posts from the last couple of years here.
