Our travel plans for 2018

Last year I wrote about our travel plans for the year, and
it was such a fun post to think about, in that it got me excited for the year
of adventures that lay ahead, that I thought I’d do it again, because we have
some really fun stuff in the pipeline…..
California
You might remember this trip appearing on my list last year
but my bloody chemo schedule pushed back the trip and so we had to change our
plans (hence the pretty last minute Washington, Philly, NYC trip last May!) but
this year we are doing it. Well, not even this year. THIS MONTH. We’re flying
(first class) to san Fran and doing a round trip from there to Mammoth, talking
in Sonoma, Tahoe, Monterey and Big Sur too! Can. Not. Wait! I just hope I’m
up to the snowboarding!
Cornwall
I’ve missed out on going sailing these last couple of years due to lumpectomies and chemo and fun stuff like that, so I have put my foot down and we’re 100% going sailing this spring/summer. We
just have to work it round the times that my mum and dad will be about and the
boat will be in the country – but I am so looking forwards to getting back to Cornwall
and the boat, and the sea! It’s the place that makes me happiest!
Amsterdam
Now our friends in Amsterdam have gone and bought a flat, I
am sure there will be numerous trips to see them and help them house warm! Jim
wants to go over in one way or another at least once a quarter and we have
plans to go back to Borefts too! There’s a post lined up all about our love of visiting our friends coming soon too!
Copenhagen
There have been talks of a trip to Copenhagen for a while
now. Mostly to drink beer but also to sightsee, and I woke up to Jim, last week
looking at flights and accommodation so I think it might be closer to being
booked than I thought! Which would be amazing!
Bournemouth
One of my besties lives down on the coast and she bought a
new place last year that I haven’t visited yet, so this year WILL include some
trips to see her, and her beautiful part of the world some more. She came to
visit me so much over the last 18 months that I am due some time in her patch!
We’re also discussing the fact that in our entire
relationship Jim and I haven’t had a sunny holiday. Not one laze about on a
beach, in luxury sort of holiday, and it’s something that we’re really hoping
to rectify. We’ve been thinking about taking a sunny trip of a life time to somewhere like Sri Lanka, so
once we have California out of the way we’ll be starting to look towards
something a bit more relaxing! Plus, I’d love to see Iceland, and barcelona, and Lisbon and and and…………

Where are you off to this year?

This post is in conjunction with Exodus. But all the words, and travel plans, are my own!
